I got an e-mail late last week from minidisco telling me that the new Hi-MD unit I preordered won’t arrive until July now. A post today at the Minidisc Community Portal gives similar data, except noting that the lower-end model, the MZNH600D has just started shipping and the next higher model ships soon.
Of course, I’d have to order the high-end model, since I really need to have good mic and line inputs and see the value in the sturdier metal construction.
As I noted a few weeks ago, I’ve been recommending to friends looking for portable audio recording equipment to wait for Hi-MD, but that’s getting tougher for folks who need it sooner rather than later.
Oh, Sony, what a fickle mistress you are.
